1. so happy to have this tatami bed in my home

   I got the tatami bed/mats yesterday, got it setup immediately and quickly thanks to its very nice and clever design, I am very impressed by the quality of this product and the fresh smell of mats is just amazing.
   
   Thank you again for such a pleasant and smooth transaction.
   
   when I sit on my new tatami, my room has nothing but this tatami, now I realize that I need two more things! one is the tea table, the other is the floor lamp, without these two things, my room is not finished with wonderful Japanese style.
   
   please help to make your store an one-stop shop, I really like to order these missing pieces from you and I can wait.

   I originally ordered a bed frame identical to this one from Thuma. They kept delaying my shipment, with no idea when it would actually ship, so after waiting 2 months I cancelled the order. I saw comments on Reddit that others had done the same, and then ordered from Tatamiroom, and were extremely satisfied.
   Before I ordered the Thuma bed frame, I asked my mattress manufacturer sales rep if the specs looked adequate for the mattress I was purchasing. He said the slats were 3" apart, an they preferred them to only be 2". The Tatamiroom slats are 2" apart, so despite the great marketing abilities of Thuma, Tatamiroom is of better quality. I wish I had known of Tatamiroom before I placed my order with Thuma. My only suggestion to Tatamiroom would be to hire the marketing team that Thuma uses, it's the only thing they do better.
   I am 64 yrs old and cannot fix anything that requires more than a kick or a butter knife, but I was able to put this frame together, with my wife's help, in 30 minutes. It was exactly as advertised. It was also packaged extremely well. I live in Portland ME, this frame traveled from CA, and arrived in perfect condition. The frame is beautiful.
   I called the Tatamiroom 800 number twice before placing my order. My calls were promptly answered by a human at Tatamiroom who answered all my questions. FYI, there is no way to speak to anyone at Thuma, all communication is done by email, so there is always a bit of delay in receiving responses.

5. Fantastic sturdy tatami bed

   Normally I don't write reviews but given that this is the one of few places in US that sold Tatami beds online and that I'm ecstatic about my purchase I wanted to share it with others who might be on the fence. Get it now!
   
   The bed is sturdy and well made, makes no noise and was a breeze to put together by myself within 30-45 minutes. Only used 4 screws too! This was the only time ever that I finished putting together furniture bought online and was left amazed wanting to do it again.
   
   Even during the COVID pandemic the shipping was quick from California to the east coast. Everything was packaged well except for the slats -- the box came open during the shipping but they weren't damaged or scuffed. I'm sure that if one of the other boxes came opened it still would have been fine.
   
   Keep up the great work and I will be telling everyone interested in Tatami beds to go with you guys!

   The 5-star reviews on this website are no joke. This bed is simply wonderful. It was slightly challenging putting it together myself, but I being was overly cautious because I didn't want to damage the beautiful wood. There has been no creaking and it is at the perfect height where I can still store short storage containers under my bed. It's really not that heavy to move around. The Mado Classic Platform Headboard is a great finishing touch for this bed. The only thing I don't like about it is an issue I have with the bed that is unique to me because of my height. I own a queen Purple mattress, and at almost 6 feet tall, my purple pillow causes my feet to almost hang off of the bed, which is the problem I thought I had solved getting a queen (in my opinion, the purple pillow footprint is wider than most pillows, and because I can't sleep with my pillow under my shoulders, the top half of the pillow needs to go somewhere. I can make it work by wedging the top portion of pillow between the mattress and headboard, so I'm not displeased, but it's not what I had expected to have to do. With a normal sized pillow, a person of my height would be perfectly fine. I only say this to emphasize that if you were to forgo the headboard, you'd be in better shape with a purple pillow, but others may not share the same sleeping preferences/conditions. But otherwise, I overwhelmingly approve of the quality and workmanship of this bed.

7. Excellent bed, worth every penny!

   We got a tall tatami king size and couldn't be happier. Excellent bed in terms of stability and looks. Shipping & delivery is super fast and from order to delivery it was 7-8 days. Every single package was very well packed and labelled clearly.
   Bed was super easy to put together, and we did it in lik3 30 mins (from unpacking to putting it together).

   Bought Japanese futon beds about a year ago and finally found the right bed with Tatami mats for them! This bed came in prestige condition and easy to understand instructions. Even the slats are hardwood. Came within 5 days of ordering with no issues. The wood is beautiful! An investment for many years to come. Sleeping on tatami is great!

10. Buy it with the headboard!

    I bought the TALL full sized bed frame (dark walnut) during the covid 19 period and it came within a week!
    
    The setup was pretty easy although I made a mistake of not opening the headboard until I had set up the 4 sides of bed. You have to use the headboard instead of one of the shorter rail. Other than that, I like how you didn't need any other tools to set it up.
    
    I'm very happy with this product! I love the bed frame. I feel like an adult now making this big boy purchase! Thanks tatamiroom!
