Tatami Platform Bed Frame in Dark Walnut - The low platform bed frame is made of 100% solid hardwood (Parawood-environmentally friendly wood) in satin finish. Includes 18 pairs of wooden slats (2" spacing) to support any standard size mattress. This Japanese style platform bed is constructed with interlocking frames that requires no brackets or screws for easy assembly.
*Complete platform bed set comes with Tatami mat(s) to create a serenity space for meditation or sitting area, Japanese futon mattress may be added for sleeping that provide excellent back support and comfort (sold separately).

All-around great experience

My review echoes everyone else's: Excellent quality (attractive, sturdy), efficient ordering and shipping (w/ helpful email communication), very satisfying experience all around. We ordered the headboard, mattress, and futon cover/shams and are happy with everything. We hope to keep this bed for a very long time, but in the case we need another, we will order from here and encourage our friends and family to do so as well.

Great bed

We purchased the platform bed with tatami mats to go with our Japanese futon mattress. The wood is beautiful and the pieces fit together smoothly. It's pretty cool how it assembles without screws. There are not many places you can get beds like this in US, and we are very happy with ours.
As a side-note: since it is sometimes hard to tell from the pictures, I'll add that the dark walnut is quite dark and looks nearly black in faint light.

We have purchased two tatami platform beds over the past 5 years and we are very satisfied with both of them. Easy to assemble/disassemble, solid wood, very nice interlocking legs make this bed very sturdy. Our 2nd one we purchased for our young daughter as we like how it is low to the ground in case she tries to roll off. Excellent product.

I was looking for a high quality platform bed made of solid wood at a reasonable price and was not having any luck until I came upon Tatami Room. What a great find, I will recommend it to everyone. The queen Tatami platform bed in dark walnut is exactly what I wanted. It's beautiful and I plan for it to be the last bed I buy. The instructions were pretty small in print but I figured it out. The shipping was fast, within a week from California to Boston. Excellent company.

1. Placed order, sent email with questions, sellers replied quickly.
2. Bed arrived very quickly. Everything you needed, nothing missing, nothing damaged. All pieces were wrapped with care, just like the Japanese do so well.
3. Bed was so easy to put together and took 10-20 minutes. Longest part was unwrapping it because it was wrapped so well (THANK YOU).
4. Bed is beautiful, top quality work, top quality materials, top quality customer service. I will be buying from them again and telling others.
5. It is not made in China. Tatami mats are either made in Taiwan or Japan. Wish they were all made in Japan, out came from Taiwan but were top quality. Bed is from Indonesia and the wood is beautiful.
We placed a queen mattress on top of slats and tatami mats for a little more height, but in the future when we don't want the mattress anymore will go to futons on top of tatami mats.
Highly recommend this company, their customer service and the care in their packaging and product shows and is almost unheard of anymore.

I have a Queen and a King frame with nightstands. Love the quality and look. Easy to put together in under 10 minutes for one person. It takes longer to unpack it because it is wrapped so well. Excellent service.

I highly recommend Tatami Room beds! Also the service is outstanding! I literally got my bed within 2hrs of making the order. I’ve been dreaming about buying a tatami bed for 30yrs! I’m so happy I finally get to rest the way I have always wanted to. I know that sleeping on tatami mats is wonderful for the spine and great for getting optimal deep sleep.
