Product Description
The Tall Wakayama platform bed frame includes interlocking Japanese joinery assembly while also allowing for mattress to frame correspondence. A space saver for small bedrooms, the Tall Wakayama platform bed frame is built from solid hardwood (Parwood, also know as the rubber tree wood). The bed frame consists of pyramid-shaped inset legs, two center support legs, and center support with wooden slats less than two inches apart with a weight capacity of 1600 lbs. This Japanese architectural influenced bed frame is versatile as the headboard can adjust to accommodate a 10 or 13 inch mattress. *Headboards are sold separately.

Excellent with Minor Quibbles

Absolutely excellent all around. The wood is superb, finished well, heavy and supportive. It'sall very simple, but so well-constructed. We are definitely keeping this for the long haul.
A few of minor quibbles:
One of the inner legs had packing tap wrapped around it, resulting in its having some adhesive after the tape was removed. Not the greatest, but the packaging was otherwise very well done (not to mention sturdy).
There was a small gouge in one of the pieces; however, it's neither structurally-compromised nor is it in an area that's going to be regularly accessed/viewed, so I'm not concerned about this.
The inner supports attach to the front and back rails via screws which are then subsequently covered over with a cap/plug; I would have preferred a different design as the caps seem to fit very snugly and I'd prefer to not have to finesse/force them off if the frame has to be disassembled.
Additional details:
Frame: Queen size with headboard; Natural Finish; headboard is installed in the taller position.
Mattress: Purple Plus Queen size.

Better than expected

We ordered our platform bed a few months ago and it arrived this week.
It was easy to assemble and will be easy to move when we relocate.
The craftsmanship is unbelievable! This is solid wood and absolutely beautiful!
Great costumer service, real people answering the phone. The tracking was informative and on target.
It did take a few months to get the bed but it’s worth the wait!
We choose this company because they are the only company that offers a taller version of a platform bed.

Brilliant Craftsmanship - Much Better than Pictures

Purchased a tall wakayama in natural wood. The color isn't quite as light as in the picture and the wood grain on the received product is far more attractive than in the picture. Incredibly sturdy and heavy in a good way. Assembly was a breeze. I think we spent more time unpacking the materials than we did putting it together. The directions were actually as straight forward as the screenshots shown. Trickiest part was actually aligning the dowel with the two screens that attach the middle bar to the front/back. Only 12 total screws were required (4 platform, 8 for headboard) and only the headboard screws bear any meaningful load. Headboard is really clean and solid. The slats are impressively solid and there's no detectable wobble or noise on anything. Sincerely impressed.

I've purchased three tall (15inch) Tatami platform beds in the natural finish.
I like the Japanese style and combined it's style with a Island flare when decorating. It's simplicity, ease of assembly and quality of construction make this product an obvious choice for me. I'm sure me and my grandchildren will be able to enjoy this product for many, many years.

This bedframe goes together like a precisely made wooden puzzle. A pleasure to assemble. The craftsmanship is consistent throughout. Rather than what you see is what you get, I would say you get a little more than what you see.
I didn't notice the slightly dished (curved) front ot the headboard on the website but it's a nice touch.

This brand was recommended to me by a colleague and I'm happy with the product I purchased. It's an excellent value when compared to the other options I found in my research. I chose a natural finish and the color and grain are true to the photos. Assembly is simple and intuitive. The material is solid wood and heavy. The footprint is no larger than the mattress but the optional headboard adds approx. 3 inches behind the head of the bed.
