35.5"X71" TATAMI MAT

3x6 Tatami Mat Standard size(35½"x71") authentic Tatami mats are made from high quality materials such as rush grass surface, stitching yarn, cotton border, and protective backing are all imported from Japan . Each mat is skillfully crafted in Taiwan to meet the Japan Industry Standard (JIS-5901). With proper care, our Tatami last up to 20 years.
Rush Grass Surface: First grade quality long grass dyed with natural Japanese clay to enhance even color tone(Golden-Yellow as it ages). The most vital steps of making Tatami; Rush grass covering is tightly woven and stitched in precise tension to prevent from warping or damaging.
Rice straw core: Rice straw core are naturally treated under kiln dry in 90 degree celcius required by the Japan Agriculture Standard(JAS) and USDA. After proper treatment, layers of rice straw are accurately measured and compressed to two inches. Multiple lines of yarns are tightly stitched together to provide durability and level.
